T-E-X-A-S Part 3: Playdates, July 4th & Galveston

Well, it's been awhile to say the least and I'm trying to catch up on the blog before I plan on getting behind again with the arrival of baby #2.  The final part to our trip home to Texas was filled with random photos, playdates with cousins, friends, a huge outing with family in Sealy and our annual Galveston trip with the St. Thomas High guys and family.  For the sake of catching up, I'll keep most of the forgotten details out.

Elliott was fixated on making a circle with his trains and then driving his Hot Wheels into the middle.

I guess he was tired.

I guess he was really tired.

Playdate with Abby and Lilly but they were both still sleeping!

I asked Elliott to touch Lilly biao mei's toes (just to get him closer to the girls) but instead he grabbed his toes!

Elliott's introduction to his first tea party.

How and what girls vs boys play with.

The blog rotated this and I don't know how to unrotate it.  Tara and her two girls Haley and Riley came over too!  They are nearly the same age as Abby and Lilly.

The "big" kids eating together.

Happy Elliott!

Elliott playing with Cousin It, just kidding!!!

Mommy love to Abby.

Next playdate with Matt's high school friend and family.  Elliott is in between Cole and Luke's age and was glued to their train table.  Little did he know, he had one waiting for him in Perth.

See the concentration?  His tongue is so cute!

All the boys eating their favorite, pizza.  Well, actually, it's Andrina's favorite as well.

July 4th fell on a Wednesday this year and Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin hosted the Chen family out in Sealy.  Everyone had a grand ol' time seeing the "country" and enjoying the cool summer breeze.  Lucy's family was still in town so it was a great chance for them to see a non-suburban side of the States.  I won't go into all of the delicious food we had (I was too busy eating to snap photos and now it's been too long that it'll just make me really want it and I can't get it) but ribs, corn, sausage and lots of veggie sides.  Everyone was overwhelmed with the variety, flavors and somehow saved room for homemade ice cream!

Elliott visiting Shiner and Phoenix.

Lao Yi with Lucy, Cindy and their mom

It was HOT in the shed but that did not matter to Elliott when he saw the John Deere lawn mower.

Daddy's old metal Tonka toys!!

Grandpa found some fishing worms for me to play with too!

Sweaty Elliott with Jiu Jiu and Jiu Ma.
Rosa - go ahead and correct me, my pinyin is horrible.

RARE photo of my mom playing with a kid. She was struggling to get the trailer back on the truck.

Weather couldn't have been much better for a Houston July day.

Me and my babies.

2011 started off an annual trip to Galveston with Matt's high school friends.  At that time, we knew we were on our way to Australia but there would be a chance we could be back in town for the party again.  Sure enough, we were able to make that happen!  Not sure it will happen next year though as we don't plan on making a Stateside visit in 2013.  The gang grew from 5 couples to 8 couples and lots of pregnant mommas!!

Vicious game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

I woke up from a nap to find this chaos of making tie-dyed shirts, drinking, soaking feet in Cali's pool and Costco-size jar of animal cracker eating for the pregnant moms.

Yes, Matty is holding a shovel which was used to create a path to the beach through the seaweed.

Beautiful Wright beach house.
Thank you for the memories.
Speaking of, too many inappropriate pictures to post so these were the clean ones.

Not too different to the Perth beaches, right?!?!

Back to Sealy to see Great Great Aunt Lu and Mari with Fritzi who drove in from Laredo.  Thank you for making the trip to Houston to see us!

Great Great Aunt Lu with Elliott.

Best buds!  Elliott still talks about Fritzi!

Cute!

Elliott busy with his basket and veggies he picked from the garden.

Sunday before we left, we went to visit Great Grandpa Nittsche and played in the yard.

Opening gifts.  See the tongue?

Delicious Shipley's donuts!  Yes, Elliott loved them as much as I do.

Walking barefoot to Daddy to sit under the grapefruit tree.

Back in Pearland for a few errands and Matt and I started to pack for our 30+ hour journey home with half of the Galleria in our suitcases.

See the trains in a circle with cars in the middle?

Out summer (clearance) shoe shopping and he insisted on wearing his tuxedo shoes from the wedding.

Last dinner with our family at Peking Cuisine of course.

In between running around and playing with Abby, they came in to get bites of jing .... rou bing (I always forget what it is called but Matt and Bryce call it the "quesadilla") from Lao Nian.

Lao Yie trying to keep an eye on these two rambunctious  little ones.

Monday afternoon at IAH saying the dreaded bye.

I'm going to go ahead and say it is the angle, but we Lee women sure do look short!

Getting some energy out before he his confined to his airplane seat.

I'm ready Mommy!!
