Random Cuteness, LITH, Sealy and Friends

December has been good to us so far.  Elliott is more and more fun each day with his personality slowly coming out.  It is so much fun to watch him learn, explore and grow everyday.  As much as I want him to stay small forever so I can hold him, I want to see him develop too.  Being a mom sure is tough!

As usual, I have a difficult time discerning which photos to upload so I end up doing more rather than less.

On Saturday, December 11th, we had our annual Lights in the Heights party except this year, it was VERY low key.  And the next day, we met up with our college friends for dim sum.  Tung got to meet Elliott and Victor was able to see him again since he was just a few weeks old.

The following weekend was spent in Sealy with the Baldwin grandparents.  They are putting in a garden and Matt helped Grandpa out.

Here is one random photo and then during Christmas break, our high school friends are all in town so we had a mini reunion with half of our group of eight.

Kevin and the girls

By the time he was 6 months old (the 24th), Elliott is officially a crawler.  The 9'x12' rug comes in handy and he can get across the whole thing pretty quickly.  In the last week, he is starting to push up on our legs and wants to pull himself up to a standing position.  It won't be long!

Unfortunately for the family, we've all been sick through the month.  Elliott has recovered by Christmas time but mom and dad are still battling out....going on 4 weeks now.

As for a note on Elliott's sleeping pattern, in December, he has managed to go to bed later.  He usually goes down to sleep around 8-10 PM and sleeps until 5-6 AM in his crib and then I nurse him in bed and we sleep til 8 AM.  I really can't complain too much but in the coming months with daycare and me having to leave for work by 7 AM, none of us will have that luxury of sleeping til 8 anymore.

He is also very alert with sounds.  Anytime he hears mom or dad's voice, he will turn his head around.  He even knows to look at the back or front door when he hears the keys jingling and doors unlocking knowing that one of us is coming home.

Gesundheit Laugh Video (from one month ago)

This video is old, but it is pretty cute of Elliott laughing.  Since Elliott was born, after he sneezes, I usually say "Bless you" while Matt says "Gesundheit."  For some reason, on this day, he thought it was hilarious!

Elliott has started to crawl forwards in the last week and has been able to show the family and some friends.  We are so proud of him!  Better start baby-proofing the house.  He also has a strong interest for remote controls, phones and anything Mom puts in her mouth.  His hair is slowly coming back since he (and I) both were balding and he now has a full head of soft new growth.  I can't wait for it to come in so he can look like when he was born.

Santa and 6 Month Stats

Just so I do not get too behind again, I will post a few cute pics into December and some with Santa at our local C&D Hardware store.

Elliott's first Peking Cuisine yumminess

For the record, Elliott did not seem to have a clue that he was sitting on Santa.  He is usually afraid of bearded people but we really don't think he even knew the beard was there.  He was touching it like he does a blanket and was rather chill.  This might be our last calm Santa picture.  He did a great job!!

I love this photo!

Elliott's 6 month stats on his December 15th appointment were length 26 3/4 inches (70%), weight 17 lbs 11 oz (62%) and head circumference of 42 cm (13%).  It has only been 6 weeks since his last appointment so not too much change.  She said he may be slimming down due to his movement.

Happy Holidays!!!!!!!

November - Ren Fest, Thanksgiving and Rockets Game

So it has been over six weeks now since my last post and every day or two, I think to myself, "Oh, that would be good to post" and that is as far as I get.  I'll start with a one from way back that I meant to post because I know you are most interested in seeing (insert sarcasm).

Back in October, the weekend before I started work, Matt, Elliott, my FIL Dale and I went to Austin for a day so Matt and Dale could participate in the Livestrong Challenge 5K.  Elliott and I slept in, but more importantly, we ate at Kerbey Lane.  YUM!!!!!  It was as good as I remembered it all those late nights at UT.

Barely containing my excitement at the original Kerbey Lane with my Kerbey Queso.  Elliott was decked out in Longhorn gear too, before it was official our season was in the toilet.

Starting with our trip on November 6th to the Texas Renaissance Festival, Elliott met his Great Uncle Jeff and Great Aunt Brandi!  Thank you for the tickets every year!

And here are the final pictures of the month of November and Elliott is already 5 months old.  We took Lao Yie to the Rockets game vs OKC and it was Elliott's first game!

At the end of November, Elliott was able to get on all fours pretty easily and scoot backwards too.  His sitting ability interest has subsided since he figured out how to move all over the rug.  He is our little wiggle worm!  Lao Nian says he could swim with all that movement if you put him in water.
