7 Months, First Tooth, Pulling Up and Standing

This update title is not in chronological order, but rather in order of how big the news is!  Today, January, 24th, 2011, Elliott is 7 months old!  So much has happened in the last week so starting with last Tuesday, January 18th, Elliott was 28 1/4" and 18 pounds and 12 ounces.  So in the last month, since his 6 month appointment on December 15th, he grew 1.5" and 1 whole pound!  Big boy!  He is a lot of muscle but definitely has baby fat.  His hair is coming in nicely and very even too.

On January 15th, it was Elliott's first time to try something besides breastmilk and rice cereal.  Green beans it was!  He was very hesistant at first but ended up liking it.  Here he is with his green bean moustache. (I am having major issues with getting videos uploaded so one day I'll come back to fix these and you can see Elliott in action.)

He is very good at crawling now and has been doing this since before Christmas.  Since January, he has been pulling up on our knees when we are sitting on the floor and last week, he started to pull up on the couch and stand all on his own.  On Wednesday, January 19th, he did his first "grazing" or "cruising" along the couch....just a few steps, but it was a first.

Yesterday, we went to his playgroup here in the neighborhood, he was the only one that was vertical and crawling!!!  Proud Mama!! 

Then we spent the afternoon in Pearland where Elliott played on the Casio keyboard circa 1988, climbed up 3 steps on his own and we discovered his bottom left tooth coming in!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It made me cry!

Elliott played on the keyboard for at least 20 minutes straight....until big cousin Abby came and "butted" him away.  Poor Elliott.  We were all trying to contain our laughter and surprise by her actions. 

Then on January 22nd, we went to Little Gym for Cali's 3rd birthday party.  There was so much activity and Elliott was soaking it all in and was a bit groggy from his nap in the car.

Elliott was a bit young so we stayed off to the side while the big kids were doing an activity.  Matt and Elliott are both watching and listening intently here.  I hope Elliott gets his concentration skills from Dad and not Mom...so far, so good.

The next day, we went to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa while Elliott's Great Great Aunt Barbara was in town.
